Retiring Pipe Major of ASPB, William Thomas, has played with the band since 1957. In 1958, he also founded and taught the Shadle park High School Pipe Band for the next 20 years. This band Continues to this day, being coached by former members of The Shadle Park Highlanders and serves now as a feeder group for the Angus Scott Pipe Band. P/M Thomas continues to actively teach piping in the Inland Empire.
Incoming Pipe Major in 2007 is Ty Cochran. His vast musical background, leadership skills, and playing capabilities will serve as a valuable asset to the progress of the band.
Able assistance in the ASPB is provided by P/S Brian Shiplett who readily and willingly assumes band responsibilities and leadership role as needed.
Our drum Sergeant is Bryan Scott whose solo proficiency is readily recognized in the Inland Empire.
Kenyon Fields, drummer (and our band manager), and his wife Carrie look after the uniform and equipment storage and issuance of same. Kenyon also takes care of the booking of all engagements.
Sharon Lucky, piper, is our treasurer. Her expertise in this area keeps us financially aware and viable. Sharon is also expert in the planning of band trips.
Piper Debbie Dahl-Cole has assumed the position of band secretary, music librarian and historian. Debbie is currently on leave and we look forward to her return.
The constant dedicated support and effort of all the band members makes this all volunteer group a pleasurable experience.
At present, the band actively consists of thirteen pipers (with four on leave) and six drummers with three more pipers in training.
