Bill Thomas: Retiring Pipe Major, has directed the band for the past 17 Years. He will continue playing with the band on an intermittent basis.
Brian Shiplett: Piper; Current Pipe Sergeant, returned to the band 10 years ago after an extended leave.
Bryan Scott: Drum Sergeant. Bryan Has grown up with the band and has developed into a very proficient solo drummer.
Tara Chapman: Piper; a long time member of ASPB, Tara is on the teaching staff at Salk Midle School, Spokane.
Ty Cochran: Piper; Ty has assumed the role of Pipe Major and his musical background and leadership skills are a welcome addition to the band.
Debbie Dahl-Cole: Piper; Debbie has returned to the band after a lengthy hiatus. Aside from diligently working on her piping, she is actively involved in band progress.
Carrie Fields: Piper; Carrie began her training in 1994 but had to take time out to raise her family. She has now returned to the band and assists Kenyon in maintenance of equipment as well as piping.
Kenyon Fields: Drummer. Snare and Bass; Kenyon is one of those band members whose value would be difficult to measure. Sometimes too much is taken for granted. We appreciate his effort and dedication.
Candace Finity: Piper; Candace has been a member for several years now and is also a valued member of the Spokane Symphony. Her musical expertise is a valuable asset.
Dan Grimes: Piper; Dan is Pipe Major/director of the Shadle Park High School Pipe band. He is also involved in the military. Though he is a very valued member, It is necessary that he is on extended leave.
Roger Grimes: Drum Major; Roger actively pursues the necessary knowledge to perform his task.
Sharon Lucky: Piper; With the band for 12 years, Sharon continually proves her musical expertise and is another whose value cannot be measured in a few paragraphs. Her dedication to band progress and attention to endless details is deeply appreciated.
Dan Parlane: Piper; Dan has started with the band just a little over A year ago and has made remarkable progress.
Chris Roskam: Piper; Chris has come to us from Western Montana and has proven to be a very diligent worker. One rarely sees Chris without a chanter in his capable hands.
Jordan Sanders: Tenor drummer; Jordan is new to our group and comes to us from Shadle High. He has already proven his worth.
Spenser Smith: Snare drummer; another “Shadleite” who is a welcome addition to our drum section and very proficient in his performing.
Aaron Stratton: Piper; Another Shadleite whose interest and progress in piping is proving to be a very valuable asset to both Shadle and ASPB.
Jenel Thew: Piper; Playing with the band for several years now, Jenel’s musical knowledge and ability has provided added stimulus to the progress of the group as well as A willingness to teach newcomers.
Joe Trudeau: Piper; Joe is another former Shadleite that is, at present, deeply involved in higher education and military commitment. We look for his safe return.
Andrew VanWinkle: Piper; Andrew is also presently involved with the Shadle Pipe Band. Playing in two bands keeps him very busy along with his academic work.
Shelley Winkey: Piper; Shelley was the former Pipe Major/director of the Shadle Pipe Band and is now active with Angus Scott Pipe Band. Shelley possess many years of experience.
Miriam Woodley: Piper; Miriam has been with the band for several years now and is a very valued member. Unfortunately, for us, Miriam has had to take a leave of absence to pursue some educational opportunities. We will look forward to her return.
Brian
Bowers: Piper; Brian came into the band in 2004 and passed away suddenly in
October of 2006. In his short tenure, Brian impressed upon everyone an example
of dedication, perseverance, and dogged determination.
Not only did he progress rapidly as a piper, he was just a fine man. He was
always ready and willing to help out in whatever capacity he was requested.
He will be left on the rolls out of respect for the person he was and the
example he set.
Jordan Yanev: Piper; Jordan started the pipes at age 14 in 2003 and has
now played with the band for the past three years. He is a valuable asset and
the grandson of Bill Thomas. Jordan will be on leave to College for the next
four years but will play with the band when time permits.
Emily Wallace: Piper; Emily moved into the area recently from the Sea/Tac
area. She gained her primary and advanced training in the Northwest Jr. Pipe
Band (Seattle Area) and has proven to be a proficient player and already a
valuable asset to the band.
Ryan Lieuellen: Drummer; Currently in the band, Ryan is a student of
Bryan Scott.
Steve Brown: Piper; Steve is one of the original pipers of the Shadle
Park High School Pipe Band. Started in 1958, Steve quickly became a proficient
player. Having traveled extensively, he has now returned to play in the ASPB and
is a valuable asset.
Tom Brown: Drummer; Tom is the son of Steve Brown and has a seven year
history of teaching band in the public schools. His expertise and musical
knowledge has already proven to be a very valuable contribution to our musical
progress.
Gary Plowman: Drummer; Master of more than one instrument, Gary has
played many years with the Spokane Symphony and brings a wealth of knowledge to
share. Not only that, he is an experienced reed maker.
