COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND PERFORMANCES
![]()
As an all volunteer group of dedicated individuals, ranging from begin-ners to award winning competitors, the band continues to make dozens of appearances every year throughout the Inland Empire. In 1999, the ASPB was chosen to be the honorary Pipe band for the National Fraternal Order of Police.
Major performance events of the year are the Robert Burns Evening in January and the St. Patrick’s Day parade and celebration (through many establishments in Spokane) in March.
Other community commitments of the Angus Scott Pipe Band are: Crop Walk (world wide hunger awareness), a number of American Cancer Society fund raising events, Cancer Patient Care event, Fairchild Air Force Base functions, Veterans’ day celebrations at area schools, and the annual Police Memorial service, to name a few.
Although the band has focused on performance capability over the past 5 decades, It has also competed at the grade 3 and grade 4 levels during that time.
Thanks to the efforts of all the band members, The Angus Scott Pipe Band has done quite well in the grade 4 competitions in which it participated, especially in the last 10 years.
